Financial Management: Reading and Understanding Statements, Sound Budgeting and Related Best Practices
This workshop will begin with a review of key financial indicators for reading and interpreting financial statements. Participants will then use their financial statement know-how to learn best practices for creating a sound budget. Throughout the discussion, participants will gain an understanding of how financial measures are important tools for planning, helping organizations to build capacity and fulfilling mission goals.
This interactive workshop will include interactive sharing of information, group exercises and ample time for questions and answers. Participants will be encouraged to think about specific questions in advance, as well as in response to workshop content.
Audience: Controllers or similar finance staff, program staff who work on budgets, and people entering management level jobs who have limited finance backgrounds.
