Youth Sport Coach Development in the US today:Where can we go from here? - A working roundtable

On March 16, 2011- Up2Us, Boston University, and the Boston Youth Sports Initiative hosted a working roundtable of stakeholders who are fully invested in examining the state and potential of coach development in the U.S. Top researchers, youth development experts, and coach trainers led discussions and helped participants think through possible solutions. Youth Sports is a huge part of American culture - an estimated 41 million American kids are playing competitive youth sports in the United States.

Senator Harkin's Office Requests GAO Report on Youth Sports

Senator Tom Harkin (D-Iowa), is joining with Up2Us in support of youth sports, has recently requested that the Government Accountability Office (GAO) study the current state of youth sports.

Boston Youth Sports Scan

The Boston Youth Sports Initiative collaborated with Wheelock College on a scan of youth sports in the city of Boston. The scan gives us a snap-shot of all of the youth sports opportunities throughout the city of Boston. We are especially excited about this, because as we all know, Boston is a sports town and the passion for all of our professional sports is well known. Rivaling this passion is that of the youth sports programs in the city. Youth sports are an integral part of all of the neighborhoods in Boston.
